Free Leonard Peltier

Free Leonard Peltier
The government under pretext of security and progress, liberated us from our land, resources, culture, dignity and future. They violated every treaty they ever made with us. I use the word “liberated” loosely and sarcastically, in the same vein that I view the use of the words “collateral damage” when they kill innocent men, women and children. They describe people defending their homelands as terrorists, savages and hostiles . . . My words reach out to the non-Indian: Look now before it is too late—see what is being done to others in your name and see what destruction you sanction when you say nothing. --Leonard Peltier, Annual Message January 2004 (Leonard Peltier is now serving 31st year as an internationally recognized Political Prisoner of the United States Government)

Miss Universe Visits Guantanamo: 'A Loooot Of Fun!'

Miss Universe Visits Guantanamo: 'A Loooot Of Fun!'

The current 'Miss Universe' Dayana Mendoza (formerly Miss Venezuela) and 'Miss America' Crystal Stewart visited US troops stationed in Guantanamo Bay on March 20th, the New York Times reports. Here's Mendoza's account of the visit from her pageant blog last Friday. She says the trip "was a loooot of fun!"

This week, Guantánamo!!! It was an incredible experience...All the guys from the Army were amazing with us. We visited the Detainees camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting. We took a ride with the Marines around the land to see the division of Gitmo and Cuba while they were informed us with a little bit of history.

The water in Guantánamo Bay is soooo beautiful! It was unbelievable, we were able to enjoy it for at least an hour. We went to the glass beach, and realized the name of it comes from the little pieces of broken glass from hundred of years ago. It is pretty to see all the colors shining with the sun. That day we met a beautiful lady named Rebeca who does wonders with the glasses from the beach. She creates jewelry with it and of course I bought a necklace from her that will remind me of Guantánamo Bay :)

I didn't want to leave, it was such a relaxing place, so calm and beautiful.

I await your earliest response

My Dear Respected Friend, Please accept my esteemed greetings. I apologize for having sent you this unsolicited and unexpected email at this time of the day. I got your email contact through a business directory, and I immediately thought it best to contact you directly for the sake of initiating a mutually beneficial business proposal. My name is David Robert 21 years old boy. The son of late Mr Kumanz Robert the formal senator of Liberia. Who deid as a result of political crisis in the country. As a result of this problem I was currently in Burkina-Faso, because they are trying to kill me for the issue I no nothing about.

Before his death, he deposited the sum of $28.5m (Twenty Eight Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollar) which he deposited under open beneficiary in a private finance company in United Kingdom, called Aegis Security Company since 2006. He had an agreement with the company during the time of deposit that it will be due to renew duration contract on 28th of July 2010 or it will state to accumulating tax of $3000 every 24 hours passed. Honestly, I cannot afford to loss that kind of money everyday and for how long? And as a little boy I did not know much about investment, and with my situation here I cannot be able to handle this by myself that is why I decided to seek for a partner abroad with whom I can trust to give the deposit code and batch number to retrieve this money for me and use it for investment. I am ready to offer 30% of the total fund to any interested partner for his/her assistance.

I await your earliest response, and wishing you all the best

Regards

David

Dear Friend,
Please, I want you to read this letter very carefully and I must apologize for bringing this message into your mail box without any formal introduction due to the urgency and confidential of this issue and I know that this message will come to you as a surprise, Pls this is not a joke and I will not like you to joke with it.

Before the U.S and Iraqi war our client Mr.Hatem Kamil Abdul Fatah who was a business man and also an oil supplier to the Republic of Burkina Faso made a numbered fixed deposit for 18 calendar months, with a total value of Fifteen million United States Dollars ($m15 000,000) only in our bank.Upon maturity several notices was sent to him, even during the war which began in 2003.

Again after the war another notification was sent and still no response came from him. We later find out that the dceased customer along with his entire family (wife and children) died in a bomb blast that hit their home.

After further investigation it was also discovered that the late customer did not declare his next of kin in his official papers including the paperwork of his bank deposit.

And he also confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me no other person knew of his deposit in our bank, So I need your urgent assistance in transferring the sum of($15 000 000) millions USD into your bank account within 14 working banking days.

What bothers me most is that according to the laws of country a Burkinabe cannot come out and claim this fund.
I don't want the money to go into our Bank treasury as an abandoned fund. Therefore this is the reason why I contacted you so that our bank will release this money to you as the next of kin to the deceased customer.

Please I would like you to keep this proposal as a top secret and delete it if you are not
interested.

Upon the receipt of your reply and indication of your capability, I will give you full details on how the business will be executed and also note that you will have 40% of the above mentioned sum if you agree to handle this business with me while 60% will be for me.

I don't want anyone here in our bank to know my involvement until you confirm this fund into your account and ask me to come over for the sharing as indicated.

Then after I will retire from our bank and come over to you contry fordisbursement acconding to the percentage indicated. therefore to enable theimmediate transfer of this fund toyou as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as relation or next of kin ofthe deceased, Please, don't entertain any atom of fear because the transaction is 100% risk free.

Be rest assured that I will provide all the necessary information which the bank may require from you during the process to make sure everything goes well and fast.

Best Regards
Mr. George Kevin

I know that this message will come to you as a surprise,Please do not assume this to be another internet joke,I am MR.BOUREIMA WANKOYE the manager of auditing and accounting department of BANK OF AFRICA (B.O.A) here in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.I hoped that you will not expose or betray this trust that i am about to impose on you for mutual benefit  of our families.

After the annual auditing of the year 2008/2nd quarter of 2009,I discovered an abandoned/stagnant sum of $10m dollars (Ten Million US dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer (MR. RICHARD BURSON from Florida, U.S.A) who died along with his entire family on November 1999 in a plane crash. For more information's about the crash you can visit this site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/502503.stm

Since we got the information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we can not release it unless some body applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines and laws, but unfortunately we learn that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you,so that the money can be release to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody will come for it and I don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed dormant fund.

The banking law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after ten years the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed dormant fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Burkinabe like me can not stand as next of kin to a
foreigner.I agreed that 40% of this money will be for you as a respect to the provision of a foreign account,10% will be set aside for expenses incurred during the business and 50% would be for me. Thereafter, I will visit your country for disbursement according to the
percentage indicated Therefore, to enable the immediate transfer of this fund into your account, you must first apply to the bank as relation or next of kin to the deceased customer with a text of application that i will send to you,but before i send to you the text of application form,I will like you to send me the following information's:

1.NAME IN FULL:................................
2.ADDRESS:.......................................
3.NATIONALITY:...................................
4.AGE:.............................................
5.SEX..............................................
6.OCCUPATION:......................................
7.MARITAL STATUS:..................................
8.PRIVATE PHONE NO............................................
9.PRIVATE FAX NO:.............................................

so i will like you to send to me those information's for easy and effective communication.

Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of the application form.I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch-free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer. You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter.

Trusting to hear from you immediately.
Yours Faithfully,
MR.BOUREIMA WANKOYE

Jewish Voice for Peace

Stand with dignity in the face of fear.

Please give today and your donation will be doubled
dollar for dollar.

Dear David,

Stepping out into the street to take a stand for justice can be frightening. I know, because I've been doing it for years.

Following the attack on the boats seeking to break the siege of Gaza, I was at a silent vigil with members of Jewish Voice for Peace, Women in Black and others when we were verbally attacked by a small but virulent group with chants of Kapo!, Nazi!, and worse. What you'll see in the video linked at right is just a small taste of nearly two hours of taunts and threats.

I won't lie to you-- it was painful and unsettling. But the truth is, even after days like these, I'd never do anything differently. After living and studying in Israel and even working for a Jerusalem mayor, I decided to work to bring about equality and justice, no matter the price.  And I can tell you, Jewish Voice for Peace is the same. They tell the truth and act with courage, no matter the price. That's why I am so proud to have been a member for so long.

You may know that Jewish Voice for Peace is in the middle of its summer fund drive,  and has until July 14 to match a generous gift of $25,000. That means that whatever you give now will be doubled. Because you understand the importance of acting for a greater principle in the face of fear, I hope you will support JVP if you can.

We are up against those who simply don't want Israel to be accountable to anyone-- and they're fierce. That's why telling the truth about Israel's occupation and treatment of the Palestinian people takes courage.  Many of us brave taunts and threats. Others brave job losses or isolation from our families. The folks at Jewish Voice for Peace have become accustomed to hateful letters and calls and sometimes, death threats. Those in B'ilin, N'ilin, and in Sheikh Jarrah, and on the Gaza flotilla, take courage to a whole new level, risking permanent injury, death and imprisonment. But all of us are bound together in our belief that the principle of equality for all people is worth whatever risk each of us is able to take.

Stand with Jewish Voice for Peace and support the largest Jewish organization that stands unapologetically for telling the truth. Please make a generous gift by July 14, and your gift will be doubled. Help JVP make its match.

People like me can get back out into the streets day after day precisely because we know that JVP has our backs and that we're in this together with you, JVP's 100,000 other supporters and activists. We fuel each other's courage, and together we make change. Jewish Voice for Peace is the organization that brings us all together so we can say what must be said and do what must be done. Please support them.
