Free Leonard Peltier
The government under pretext of security and progress, liberated us from our land, resources, culture, dignity and future. They violated every treaty they ever made with us. I use the word “liberated” loosely and sarcastically, in the same vein that I view the use of the words “collateral damage” when they kill innocent men, women and children. They describe people defending their homelands as terrorists, savages and hostiles . . . My words reach out to the non-Indian: Look now before it is too late—see what is being done to others in your name and see what destruction you sanction when you say nothing. --Leonard Peltier, Annual Message January 2004 (Leonard Peltier is now serving 31st year as an internationally recognized Political Prisoner of the United States Government)

Miss Universe Visits Guantanamo: 'A Loooot Of Fun!'

Miss Universe Visits Guantanamo: 'A Loooot Of Fun!'

The current 'Miss Universe' Dayana Mendoza (formerly Miss Venezuela) and 'Miss America' Crystal Stewart visited US troops stationed in Guantanamo Bay on March 20th, the New York Times reports. Here's Mendoza's account of the visit from her pageant blog last Friday. She says the trip "was a loooot of fun!"

This week, Guantánamo!!! It was an incredible experience...All the guys from the Army were amazing with us. We visited the Detainees camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting. We took a ride with the Marines around the land to see the division of Gitmo and Cuba while they were informed us with a little bit of history.

The water in Guantánamo Bay is soooo beautiful! It was unbelievable, we were able to enjoy it for at least an hour. We went to the glass beach, and realized the name of it comes from the little pieces of broken glass from hundred of years ago. It is pretty to see all the colors shining with the sun. That day we met a beautiful lady named Rebeca who does wonders with the glasses from the beach. She creates jewelry with it and of course I bought a necklace from her that will remind me of Guantánamo Bay :)

I didn't want to leave, it was such a relaxing place, so calm and beautiful.

Dear friends:

In a recreational fashion, this tour by Neza York ends with a toast made by the art critic Carlos-Blas Galindo, ¡for the future of Neza, cheers! =^:^=

Thank you

Jorge Guerrero Osorio, Everardo García, Filadelfo Sandoval, Sergio García, Lupus, Los Cogelones, artistas de Neza, La Tetera de la Abuela, Centro Regional de Cultura de Nezahualcóyotl, Carlos-Blas Galindo, Héctor Vargas Trujano, Manuel Salgado, Orlando Vázquez.

we conquer by surrendering, we gain by giving up

- For my, Yordi, he represents someone I would like to fight with, well, thus.

- And take blood out of him.

- When I meet him, he told me 'I am the best, the coolest', and I say 'great, you are' and he hasn't moved a millimetre, and he keeps on being the best, he knows all, and I accept him, although he is odious, but he is the best.

- Hahaha!

- I am a policeman, man, I cannot expose me like this in media, and never the less knowing Iris, this can be tomorrow there.

- Well, here, with us, he… has been famous by force of being hated by all.

- Hahaha!

- We are in the house of Yordiboy, the host.

- He has won the pretty title of 'son of a bitch', but he is loved.

- Her mother yes do love him.

- Her mother loves him.

- Ea! Mothers are mothers.

- In México, they are tough!

- Sure!

- Well, Yordiboy, the intuitive animal. He has said to us that he will recast us in hell, in jail, but finally he's a friend that I dearly respect.

- That here will arrive 500 patrols, 50 helicopters. They are going to chop you down, cut into pieces.

- Hahaha!

- Meat Meal at Sunday in the Platz.

- In the public Square.

Generosity of females is wild, pleasant, magical. It turn us into pigs, they search for the violent pleasure…

III

Orlando Vázquez

- I must confess that they tried to drown me when I was very little.

- Your nanny was't Paulette's mom?

- Hahaha!

- That was in another life.

- We are five, but he is eight years older than I, I am 25, he is 33.

- He was jealous.

- He had jealousy.

- It was like that you were taking the mothers love away from him and ahhh!

- Yes, jealousy!

- Like fierce, jaguar, infuriated.

- Defending his tit; ow, my tit!

- Defending his territory, but… Don't Fuck!

- Anyway look, if he was 8 years when he wanted to kill you, so what, the point is that he did not kill you, besides, he was a child, what?

- An accident, something like that.

- Yes, maybe he was just like an animal.

- hahaha!

- Was? We all are!

Everardo García Ortiz, national prize of oratory, 1997

- Everardo García, national prize of oratory, 1840.

- Hihihi!

- French intervention.

- He is a revolutionary from the subversive Neza culture. As a characteristic, he has the Forum Martí. The government subsidises that space.

V

Filadelfo Sandoval,

- What? Ah! Subsidises? No. You are wrong man.

- The government donated them the space.

- We have taken it and the neighbours defend us.

- I am gonna explain it in two words. The government lent it for a while and this ones grasped it.

- Hahaha!

- The master is Filadelfo Sandoval, he has written two, three books.

- No, more, man.

- He has several published books in compilations. He is compiled in many books. He has several works. Now he just made one related with violence against women. It's very important, it was a price, from FOCAEM.

- He is a books man.

- That theatre play is interesting. Besides he works for SOGEM.

- He sells in San Juan.

VI

Sergio García Díaz.

-He has published like ten books, and he has been compiled in another twenty, from the government of the State of Mexico and the country, at national level, bicentennial. He is the director of a Cultural Center called 'The Two Fridas' ('Las Dos Fridas').

VII

Jorge Guerrero Osorio. visual artists, writer

-Well, now I have time to thank to the University of the State of Mexico for publish a history that I wrote about contemporary art and thirty years of rock, there are all these bands. I hope you can read it, buy it, it is in Sanborns, Vips. If you are very snob, you can go to the University of the State. There is a intervention of mine about the culture and rock of Nezahualcóyotl in the last 30 years.

Vamp Iris Atma Ra

- I was a small baby when I was in the belly of my mother, and everything moved and was wet.

- I am going to be as fair to them as they have been with me.

- Hahaha!

- Post incubator.

- Post incubator, of course.

- This looks like an incubator, men.

- Rather to say; to me you look Post innovator.

- Yeah, we do not believe in capital punishment.

- You are going to be an artist.

- Are you going to be? She is an artist!

- But even more!

VIIII

Carlos-Blas Galindo, crítico de arte

-What is post-necense? Indeed it is about to overcome that stigma that we had all who arrived at Neza many years ago, many decades ago, that people used to put an 'x' in our forehead. Here was dust and mud. And we stole the light from the posts.

Post-necense means to overcome that stigma, that qualification of the crook, swine. Indeed; that the art work that is made here, be an art work that is in any place of the mainstream, said in Spanish, right?, mainstream is a 'catalán' term.

Let's get rid of those ballasts, that is post-necense, let's get rid of those ballasts so we can say; the art work we do is an art work by it self, independent of where it is made. Definitively it is made in Neza. It is Neza today, not Neza from 10, 20, 30 years ago. I knew Neza sooo many years ago and luckily for Neza; it goes forward. Cheers! For the future. For the future of Neza, cheers!

-Cheers!

-We also have here between the important personages in Nezahualcóyotl, someone who comes to intervene in these spaces, Iris Mexico, Iris Atma, with a video proposal that we have here on screen. I like a lot the video of Iris Atma, I hope you like it too. Thank you.

-Thank you!
