hi all, we have a new project going on, and we'd like to invite our fluxfriends on the internet to participate.

in a nutshell, you spray or stencil a blank musical staff on a public wall. give a brief description and invite passers-by to add a note to the staff. return periodically and transcribe the notes -take photos too. when the project is finished, we will work all of the staffs into a song for performance. you're invited to perform too.
all material collected will be published on the project website with your name and location.
a few ideas; we've had the best luck with putting the staff up in a place where other graffiti artists tend to work. if there are laws against graffiti in your locale, there are other options like chalk, whetpaste up a long paper to use with markers, etc. if you leave something to write with (tie/affix a marker/chalk/paint can) to the wall, more people tend to place a note, however these are usually stolen within a few days so they would need to be replenished. it's good to write the website address "songshi.info" near the staff so people can look it up. we've also thought of non-outdoor public spaces, such as a coffeeshop or gallery who would allow an installation of this manner.
we're also open to any ideas that anyone else had for expanding the project.
