U.S. Weapons Transfers to Israel
![]() Click here or above to watch the video. | On Monday, 170 citizen lobbyists from 26 states held nearly 70 meetings with their Members of Congress in a grassroots lobby day organized by Interfaith Peace-Builders and the US Campaign. |
We kicked off our lobby day on Capitol Hill by holding a policy briefing entitled "Armed and Dangerous: Weapons Transfers to Israel during the Bush Administration." To watch the policy briefing, please click here.
The policy briefing featured:
* Josh Ruebner, National Advocacy Director, who presented the US Campaign's research on arms transfers to Israel during the Bush Administration and their effect on Palestinian civilians; and
* Amr Shurrab, a young Palestinian from Khan Younis in the occupied Gaza Strip, who related his heart-breaking story of the death of his two brothers at the hands of the Israeli military just a few weeks ago
This policy briefing broke new ground on Capitol Hill by calling into question the morality and legality of U.S. military aid to Israel. Watch this important event on-line by clicking here.
